Healthcare Forum

The Healthcare Forum is the culmination of the collaboration between the European and Central Asian project partners from the medical devices sector. The Forum serves as a platform for exchanging experiences and challenges faced by the healthcare systems in the Central Asian countries Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Competent local and international experts, key decision and policy makers will be invited along with manufacturers, intermediary organisations and other national and international related organisations, in order to discuss the state healthcare reforms as well as experiences and challenges of the application of innovative medical equipment in Central Asia.

The purpose of the Healthcare Forum is to open up a dialogue between the industry and the Government to discuss the future of the industry and the most pressing issues and concerns.

The Healthcare Forum is organized by SPECTARIS and the project team in cooperation with the Kazakhstan Ministry of Health.

In addition to representatives of ministries of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, Germany and the Delegation  of European Commission in the Republic of Kazakhstan in Forum will participate the Chairman of the Board of "National Medical Holding", the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Control, Company Chairman Carl Zeiss Meditek, Head of International Business Development of the company Karl Storz GmbH & KoKG.

In frame of the Healthcare Forum will be organized a round table discussion on issues of the day like “Lack of skilled workforce in the healthcare sector in Central Asia - current situation and possible solutions". In discussion will participate the representatives of Kazakhstan companies and medical institutions, as well as guests from the  Clinic University of Freiburg and High School of Tuttlingen.

At the end of the round table the delegates will visit medical facilities of National Medical Holding in Astana - "Center of Mother and Child", "Diagnostical Center", "Neurosurgical Center" - all facilities are high tech equipped.

The Healthcare Forum will take place in Astana on 26th of May 2010.
