The German Industry Association for Optical, Medical and Mechatronical Technologies (SPECTARIS e.V.), founded in 1881 in Cologne, represents high-tech SME's in Germany. The association unites fascinating, sustainable and booming industries of the German economy with a model global presence and international competitiveness.

The high-tech products from the consumer optics, photonics, precision technology, mechatronics or medical technology sectors are found in almost all areas of life. As key and interdisciplinary technologies, they are often used in most lines of commerce, thus making our industries a crucial driving force behind Germany's economy. SPECTARIS e.V: pools the interestes of around 400 member companies from Germany, associated in three different sector-specific associations. Through its political activities, public relations and industry marketing, the association gives its member a voice, formulates new responsibilities and opens up new markets. This ensures the international competitiveness of German industzry in these sectors and thus safeguards locations and jobs.
