Project Activities

This project, called "Building sustainable partnerships in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan: Strengthening the Capacity of Business Intermediary Organisations in Central Asia in the healthcare sector", has been designed in order to build up a sustainable network between  intermediary organisations in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Europe and to support the development of Central Asian SME's. The project comprises a series of activities which can be divided into three main activity blocks.

The first activity block will focus on giving trainings to the Central Asian partners which aim at transferring know-how between the participants, thus strengthening the performance of the intermediary organisations. The training programmes will address the following topics:

Representatives from the European partner intermediary organisations and external experts will be invited to transfer their knowledge on the above mentioned issues.

The second activity block will focus on giving the industry a stronger voice in the political dialogue. For this purpose, the project team will organise a “Healthcare Forum” in cooperation with local authorities. Competent international experts will be invited in order to discuss the state of the healthcare reforms as well as experiences and challenges of the application of innovative medical equipment in Central Asia.

The third activity block is targeting SME’s interested in doing business with foreign companies. A Matchmaking Event will be organised during the International Trade Fair KIHE 2010 in Almaty in order to bring companies from Europe and Central Asia together in face-to-face meetings.  These meetings will provide an excellent opportunity for companies from Europe and Central Asia to discuss cooperation possibilities.
